My father, Zell Bussoletti, was born and raised in Wishaw, PA. After reading the "Sidelights" article about the effects of the 1918 Spanish Influenza that hit Wishaw, PA, I am amazed that my father, only 12 months old, and all his siblings were not affected by the plague. Thank you for this web site, it is very good to reconnect to some of my father's stories of this community, especially the Legendary-Prince. Thank you, Barbara Terranova

Nice Site .... there are some old detailed topographic maps online - not sure what years your quad is. Also the dept of mine books often have detailed stats. IUP has a good amount of R&P stuff, but I'm not sure if they owned Wishaw. They have pay books, but not from until 1929 I believe.

Hi I grew up in Wishaw and was excited to find your page. We lived in a small house located between Ghezi and Shaffer just as you enter Wishaw from Reynoldsville. Reading this site brought back memories of the stories my mom told me of her own childhood growing up in Wishaw. My mom was June Rydbom (she is one of the children in the school group picture on your site) and my grandparents were Carl and Nora Rydbom. Their home was just down the road from the store. I also believe the counterfeiters you spoke of was a relationship to me. I remember my mom telling me a story about her grandfather hiding the press and no one ever found it. Great to read so much about Wishaw. I grew up visiting there often with my father, and still stop by when I can which is where I saw the sign for this website (on the road into Wishaw). Just one correction...the previous owner of the butcher shop was my grandfather William Finalle (correct spelling).

I love the site. I wish I could find more sites like this that has so much info about mine or my wife's families. Her dad is Larry Rinaldi. Larry's sister, Micky, still lives in the Rinaldi house which I believe is behind Mike & Lena Tomosora's. I imagine we will be coming out that way over the next few months to visit and do some geneaological research

i remember when we got cable out there. lol. i wish i still lived there I miss ester and nancy's annise cookies at christmas. My parents knew we were safe there and i knew i was safe there. Great little town. I also remeber when they burnt the school house and the store and when it closed i can remeber getting candy there

I just happened to stumble on this page and I certainly enjoyed it. My grandfather Pacificio Bussoletti lived there and worked in the mines as I was told. He lived past Erma Ghezzi house just before Dickey's. I used to spend quite a few Sunday's there. If you talk to Erma, maybe she would remember my grandparents, Mom,(Linda Bussoletti, my dad, John Chiffin. She also maybe would remember my Aunt Melda. If you could ask her about them, I would be very much obliged. I too, am trying to find my roots, especially on my Father's side. If anyone has information, let me know. Again, I enjoyed the site very much, and I will look back on it from time to time. Thanks for memories from around "Home"
